More than 100 international leaders of government, patient advocacy, cancer research organizations and corporations gathered in Paris, France to reaffirm and expand their commitment to the global eradication of cancer at the first World Summit Against Cancer.

ImageStream teamed with international public relations firm Porter Novelli to help the Summit maximize media coverage worldwide.

ImageStream provided a range of services to support the World Summit Against Cancer.

An International Team Assembled

ImageStream put together a team of seasoned international production people to meet the challenges of this ambitious project, contracting for international satellite transmission and hiring local production crews. Two ImageStream producers made all of the creative and technical decisions on location in Paris.

Live Events Covered in Paris

Several key events were covered and footage incorporated in the VNR and Internet clip. The actual signing of the Charter of Paris Against Cancer by French president Jacques Chirac was recorded in the presidential palace. The proceedings of the World Summit Against Cancer were shot in the Paris City Hall. Interviews with dozens of participants of the Summit were recorded in multiple languages for use in their own countries as well as in the global VNR broadcast.

Results

The World Summit Against Cancer video news release was successfully broadcast to 12 target countries. A streaming video clip was also transmitted via satellite to New York and made available on the worldwide web the same day as the VNR. Media hits were tracked in the ensuing days with over 65 million estimated total media impressions.
